@Weezilou@cejaanderson@aglennc@deu49097 It is the last shot I will be taking from near that locale anytime soon (work changes).
There is a scene in the film "Paris, Texas" where Harry Dean Stanton is standing on an overpass over a busy Houston freeway, just staring out & contemplating. Then his brother walks up to him, finding him there, & engages him. In the background is a billboard for a local radio station, "97 Rock". The design of the logo told me that it must have been filmed there while I was in high school there, then. I grew up in Houston & 97 Rock was the station I listened to, had a bunch of bumperstickers from, etc. I knew that logo. I have one of their logo bumperstickers adhered into my high school yearbook. I just attended our 30-year reunion in 2012.
Nostalgia, wistful nostalgia....
@jrambo001 Ah, OK, that explains it. Not being a movie goer, I needed the explanation. And being a current Escondidan (Is that right?) I definitely needed help. (Our city is not very photogenic, is it?!)
@jrambo001 Wow! Thank you for the additional information! Makes me think I'd like to see the movie now! As for nostalgia, I was wallowing in it during our photo meet-up with Ron Cushing @stray_shooter on Sunday. See my caption with the photo of Ron taking a picture... It would be great if you, Anita & John, Ron, Ken and I could all meet there again! @aglennc , too.
@Weezilou The photo shoot with all of you sounds awesome. Let's plan on it when you guys return to the West Coast!!! I'm going to check out Ron/'s 365 site too.
