Where Snails Go to Die

I do not know why so many snails chose this location; perhaps some snail killer attractant. There are several other trees of the same type within a few yards with no snails on them.

Stuck to eucalyptus sap? It is beautiful coloration...

I've never seen anything like this--what a find! And it's so beautiful in your capable hands, John.

Wow. The only good snail is a dead snail.

This is beautiful, but to me also sad, as I rather like snails.

Wonderful shot. Never seen so many snails in one place before. And what is Hudsucker Proxy? lmao

@Weezilou @cejaanderson @aglennc @tristansmum @miata2u It is actually a pine tree. Numerous other pines around near this one without the snails. Dunno why they chose this one.
@miata2u Peggy, 'The Hudsucker Proxy' was a 90's Coen Bros. film, starring Tim Robbins & Jennifer Jason Leigh. The Opening scend features an early 20th Century executive taking a running leap out of a window of a tall building looking similar to the one in your photo! Sounds morbid, but it is an excellent darkly comedic film
