Someone gave me poppy seeds last year. They have tons of poppy flowers at their house. Even when they try to dig them up, still they grow. I sprinkled the seeds everywhere last fall as they told me to. I just saw I grew one poppy! I am excited! I hope they spread.
I think this is wild poppy Julie. Mine is a perennial, oriental poppy so it comes back every year. I think my seeds are from a friend's garden in Germany. If you know anyone who has them in their garden they will be going to seed now so ask them to keep some for you. I think I kept mine until the Spring and planted them in small pots. Even if you don't know anyone, keep an eye open for them in other people's gardens and just ask!
