I took part in a 6 hour walk around Ham Wall RSPB nature reserve today with the intention of seeing Bearded Reedlings. However the weather was against us and the wind and rain kept them down in the shelter of the reeds. I did glimpse one flying from one reed clump to another .... for all of two seconds! Ah well - another time. There were plenty of other beautiful birds to see in the glorious scenery
