It's just a spark but it's enough to keep me going
Tomorrow (well in half an hour actually since it's 23:30) Hayley (the Paramore singer) turns 25. Since she is my idol and I want to honour her, I decided to take this. It's like the end of the "Still Into You" Music video, one of my faves of theirs.
Since the day I saw this in the video, I wanted to do this myself & today I did! It kinda also was on my "photo bucket list".
I look young on the picture - I won't tell you my age yet but I am older than 10 :D
That's an excellent photo! The barbs on the ends of the sparklers were captured perfectly. I really like the way the light from the sparklers is used to provide the lighting for your portrait. The way it keeps the background jet black works extremely well. Excellent first use of the tripod!
@tuya thank you :D @agentzuckerguss Joah, danke :) @froggie0628 Thanks Amanda :) @kannafoot Thank you Ron! Glad you like it. @linnypinny Thanks Lin, it's not very difficult, just get a pack of sparklers (around New Year's Eve you see them everywhere!), light two up and take one of them in each hand. You put the camera on a tripod so it's about on your face's height, go on manual and choose an... I think high... aperture (I used f 9.7). The exposure isn't so important here, but it shouldn't be too long (I used 1/8). Then, an exposure timer can help.
Have fun! @barneyone Thanks, I had a lot of fun with this, hope you will too!
Thanks, Jule - I'm going to get out my camera manual and practice ( I usually just leave the camera on auto and let it do its thing - it's just a point and shoot)
