On the night of 5th December, East Anglia was battered by a storm surge - the worst for 60 years. This was taken a week and a half after the storm had hit, and shows some of the destruction the sea caused along the promenade at Southwold - famous for its colourful beach huts. It was a very sad sight.
@cimes1 East Anglia is on the eastern side of England, north of London. Traditionally East Anglia was made up of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, but more recently, it is said to include the counties of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex too.
Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex are coastal counties, and Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire are inland next to the coastal counties. Combined, the six counties offer a mixture of towns, villages, countryside, seasides, and charm - there really something for everyone in the east of England!
