We have a heron who visits our pond and she always flies away when we get close. This week I spotted a tiny bird swimming in the pond and the heron stayed close, just flying to the opposite bank instead of away. I guessed it’s a heron chick and she was it’s mama. I went back today and saw the chick but was worried that the mama wasn’t around...and then I looked up and saw her in the tree. Still keeping an eye on her baby..
