Daydreamin' Boy by kerosene

Daydreamin' Boy

To me, my kids look like themselves, and not like mini versions of us... but it's funny how in a particular photo, you suddenly see it. Here, he has his dad's lips - what.

I must be mistaken in thinking I can stick to a theme for an entire month: I usually struggle with just a weekly theme! But I will try the whole month in black & white aside from the flash of red on the 14th. I'm not promising though. See, no tag. Very non-committal.
Excellent portrait

Really great portrait. Focus and DOF is perfect. I feel the same way about B&W (although I do love b&w normally), but I have a couple of albums going on.

Wonderful focus, a lovely portrait!

@graemestevens thank you much :)
@tracys thank you Tracy, I do love b&w so much too, but to commit to solely it for so long is a bit scary to me... not that it happens often but what if there is a sudden amazing colorful thing I must shoot? :)
@aikiuser thank you Ms Jenn!

Superb portrait! Love the dof, and those gorgeous eyes. I think the same way you do! I rarely see myself in my kids but every now and then I do see my hubby.

@kategoring thank you Kate and oh gosh, I totally saw your eyes and perhaps nose in your son's beautiful portrait (Blue Eyes)! At least what I see from your profile pic :)

@kerosene That's so funny!! I don't see it at all :)

Lovely portrait.

@kategoring I get it though, as I've had people say my daughter looks like me in such and such photo - and I never see it! :)
@kwind thank you Kim :)

Beautiful shot Caroline, I never think I look like my mum or my sisters but then in some photos of them I could swear it's me. My mum at my age is spooky!

It's beautiful -- a lovely portrait with wonderful lighting.

This is an absolutely wonderful portrait of your son. Gorgeous light, perfect backdrop and of course this "lovely" eyes. Handsome young man.

Such a beautiful focus on the eyes! They look open, alert, curious, and yet calm and daydreamy. Lovely.

What a beautiful dreamy shot. Love those eyes!!!

Those eyes! Yeah, it's been said before but I just had to comment on them too. Last year I played along with the splash of red, and it took quite a while before I could shoot in color again. As it is now, I shoot in monochrome, and when Lightroom imports the raw image, it brings in the color, and I must then edit it back into b&w.

Beautiful focus on those beautiful eyes. Super portrait Caroline. I know I could never do a month of b&w as I love colour too much :)

@bill_fe that's super interesting actually Bill... I love to know the 'behind the scenes' in what others do. I bet you we all do things pretty differently from one another...

beautiful pov and those eyes...

always so interesting to hear others struggling to shoot in black and white... and then i think - well, if i had to shoot colour for a month, i'd be in deep doodoo!

@northy ha but you excel at black & white... I love black & white so much, I think the struggle is more being confined, having limits. I don't like to think that there is something I can't do for a whole month :)
