After the Eagles won, we headed over to Target for some necessities (which may have included Pokémon cards). Gone are the days where I can watch the 1 o'clock game, the 4 o'clock game and the Sunday night game pretty much in a row - these poor kids need their running around time... Truly, I probably do too. The big Target hole in the wall is pretty pleasing to the eye, it turns out.
Ten years later, it was tough thinking and hearing about that terrible day again. It's still so vivid. The images take you right back. I think the kids are a bit young to realize the magnitude of September 11, 2001 but my six year old and I had a brief, child-appropriate (I think) talk about it. She was sad and worried, and my reflex was to promote a distraction her three year old brother provided. He said something about poop. They were both belly laughing before you know it.
Excellent shot Caroline. I think it's hard for adults to take in the magnitude of horror involved in that day. I needed a good poop joke to pull me out too. :-)
