Genius soothing idea from *moi*... A lava lamp so that the kids fall asleep more easily (especially my six year old, as my three year old is a great sleeper). They both felt more soothed and I walked away feeling like a winner after kissing them goodnight, until my six year old daughter called: "Maman! The lava lamp is scaring me!" I asked her what she could possibly be scared of, and apparently when "the big bubble is on the bottom and the little bubble on top, the lava lamp looks angry." (Sigh.) I got pseudo-creative, added a smile, and we were in business.
