Although I think the Old Executive Office Building is a beautiful Victorian building, Harry Truman called it "the greatest monstrosity in America." Mark Twain called it "the ugliest building in America." In black and white, it has the look of a haunted house.
I love this building! I photographed it often when I lived two blocks away from it, especially in winter, the shadows, the snow, the ice -- just lovely!
