Thank you! This is an amazing bird - part of the rescue group at Hawk Quest. Again, it's a planned photo op with a handler. The original shows the whole face, and I cropped it when I spotted the reflection in his eye. I was maybe 10 - 15 feet away, using the 75-300 lens.
The Hawk Quest shoot was an incredible opportunity to get up close with these remarkable birds. We're doing it again in early October. I'm hoping for fall colors too.
