Liriodendron tulipifera

Tulip tree. Some lovely specimens growing in large planter bags (for sale) at the nursery. These are about 5m tall.

I looked it up and found that it can grow to190 feet (58 m), with a trunk 10 feet (3 m) in diameter, is a part o the magnolia family, and one would need a big space in the backyard to plant it!!! Like the background of this shot - autumn leaves and blue skies.
