First 'spring' blooms

It's the middle of winter, and my bulbs are blooming! Last year the first flowers opened on 29th August, so we are nearly two months early.

These are such pretty flowers!!! Do you know, do these grow in S.A? I'd love to grow them... if they will grow here!!!

@monkeykid I'm sure you can grow them in places in SA. I lived in Durban so it was far to hot and humid for them. Having said that, Mitchell Park in Durban used to have a large bed of them each spring. But they were in deep shade under some very big trees. I always thought bulbs were difficult to grow as they didn't grow well in Durban and was thrilled to find when we got to NZ that they are actually so easy to grow in the right climate.
