This is a critically endangered species of plant in the genus Moraea, that is endemic to the city of Cape Town and is now restricted to the grounds of the Observatory in the Cape Town.
My little shoots are about an inch tall, and I am really hoping that in a few years time I will be lucky enough to enjoy their blooms. The flowers have three white petals with a peacock blue iris in the centre. So unusual. Fingers crossed!
@gigiflower@tinac1@grammyn@jankoos Thanks for all the lovely comments. Katy, I have about 15 of these little plants - believe me if I ever get them to maturity and they flower, I'll be posting photos morning, noon and night!!!
