Malus 'Golden Hornet'

Crab apples - growing alongside the road on the way to work.
Sam
Does this mean that you can take them Francoise?

@gigiflower Probably could, as they are on the grass verge in front of someone's property. The verge is public property, but they are not growing wild. I am sure the home-owner would have planted them, so I would feel a bit uncomfortable taking any. I might go and ask them next season if they minded me picking some as they make the most delicious jelly.

I don't think I have ever had a crab apple!! So I look forward to hearing if you managed to get any ;)

@gigiflower They are quite tart to eat just off the tree, that's why I make jelly (jam) with them. We have several trees of the red ones at the nursery, but I've been a bit lazy this season and only made golden plum jam.

Beautiful! So nice to see growth.

This is a lovely capture, Francoise - love the golden color of the crabapples.
I have a feeling that if you are running a nursery, you are not even a smidge lazy. :-)
