Takahe foster parent

Such a beautiful yet endangered bird. This one is unable to breed but is a great foster parent. The feathers are such amazing colours. Quite a privilege to see one up close like this. At the bird sanctuary in Te Anau.

@happypat @dide I think that is why they are endangered. As ground birds they are such easy prey to predators.
