Sometimes the wind blows us in directions we don't want to travel, but we manage to find the strength and faith to carry on, and there is nothing like a good walk to help us find the way.
This photo is dedicated to Rick (@digitalrn), who was one of my first friends on this site, and who inspires me (and a whole bunch of other people) every day with his photos and his philosophies about life. This is from my evening walk, and I was searching for a b&w moment, because he does them so well. I'm still practicing...
I love the texture-y look of the grass. This was an excellent choice for BW. I also like how the clouds seem to be mimicking the shape of the branches of the main tree.
this has such a beautiful, loneliness to it. I love the b+w and the windswept feel to it. fav. (have fun with Robin!!! hugs to you from me through her!)
This is beautiful I love the B & W and the grass looks so soft. Its a lovely place to walk and gather your thoughts. I don't know who Rick is but I will look him up. I love your words you are such an inspiration to so many people. I like the way you think.
absolutely gorgeous shot
the composition is perfect
the mood, the setting
the movement of the branches and the grass field
so perfect! I could frame this on my wall =)
fav Laurie!
Laurie, that is so neat of you to do that. You know, as soon as I saw this I thought, Wow! What a great shot, and of course I love the B/W, and trees, so in my mind this was an instant FAV. Then I read your words. Thank you! You are too kind, but in this photo you captured so much. I love the soft tone, perfect in this B/W, and the action of the grass's movement, it all came together perfectly. It would make a perfect enlargement to frame. Excellent job! You picked a winner.
@digitalrn Thank YOU for your kind words and encouragement, always. You really do inspire me and it was fun to try to look at the world through your eyes. Kind of like, "What would Rick see if this is where he took his evening walk at Crosby Landing?"
I think there is such a fluid beauty to this shot. I love the way the grass is swaying, and that you can actually see it ! But what I love most is that the trees are holding hands. I know that may sound silly, but it's the first thing I saw. I absolutely love threes, and this just immediately drew me in. Fav!
@aj1268 Paula - I can't believe you noticed that too! I almost mentioned it, but I was afraid people would think I was crazy. That's my favorite thing about this shot. Thank you so much for the fav!
