My View Tonight by lauriehiggins

My View Tonight

It's funny how a day evolves. I began the day with a big crash of the hard drive on my laptop...on my biggest deadline day of the week. Honestly, I was in complete panic mode until 3:30 when my Uncle Foster finally figured it out and fixed it (wish it was still hero week!).

Tonight we decorated the Christmas tree. Three of our kids along with two boyfriends and one girlfriend filled our living room with laughter and memories as they shared their favorite ornaments and stories with their sweeties. I still haven't figured out the Christmas light photography, but I really liked the glow of this photo, and my own sweetie's feet.

Here's a link to the tree right after Steve cut it down at the farm in Vermont: http://365project.org/lauriehiggins/365/2011-11-27.
Well, let's put it this way, your home is filled with the spirit of Christmas. That is one big tree.

That is one FULL Christmas tree! And what a lovely view to sit and take in:) Enjoy!
December 13th, 2011
Amazing tree! Great view and sounds like you've made even more memories!

@digitalrn Remember when I commented on your tree and how different each Christmas tree is? This is what I meant! Yours was so slender and elegant and ours is simply ridiculous. It's more like a bush than a Christmas tree, but that's just the way I like it because I have four kids and I still put the ornaments on there that they made as toddlers, as well as all the others they made over the years. Every ornament has a story...
December 13th, 2011
That is a HUGE tree! WOW!
December 13th, 2011
Beautifully decorated tree. Nice shot.
December 13th, 2011

And you're right. It does have a nice glow to it.

December 13th, 2011
that is such a beautiful tree, Laurie! Looks like there is a lot of room for santa's gift underneath. Are #4 + grandchild coming? (fingers crossed)
December 13th, 2011
wowow!! That is one hellova tree! Sounds like a WONDERFUL time-how I always imagined it should be! (except for the HD crash-double ugh!-so sorry for that, I feel your pain on that one) All is well now in the Eastern world :)
December 13th, 2011
My, you've come a long way baby! A fav for sure. You didn't even have a clue about when you'd be putting up your tree when I left you on Friday night. Good job, sweetie, and it's beautiful, as always.
December 13th, 2011
Wow. Love it !
December 13th, 2011
@christiehicks You have no idea how much your Dad is my hero today! When I brought him the laptop (at his work!), even he wasn't sure it could be saved. But then he patiently began working, and trying this and that, and then this and that again. I'm pretty sure he's a genius.
December 13th, 2011
@stepheesue Thank you. My San Fran girls are flying in on December 16 and staying 2 weeks! I'm over the moon with excitement! I hope your guys are coming home too!
December 13th, 2011
Beautiful tree, Laurie! Reminds me of the Griswald Family Christmas tree! :o)
Sound like a special night! I'm glad you got your computer fixed!
December 13th, 2011
@orangecrush It reminded me of the Griswald tree too, and I actually made my husband move it away from the windows before he cut the stings to release it because it really is that fat.
December 13th, 2011
Oh my Laurie this is beautiful! Are those icicles catching the light? Such a wonderful shape and a gorgeous room - just our taste! with wall shelves covered in books. A fave to remind me of you! :-)
