It's funny how a day evolves. I began the day with a big crash of the hard drive on my laptop...on my biggest deadline day of the week. Honestly, I was in complete panic mode until 3:30 when my Uncle Foster finally figured it out and fixed it (wish it was still hero week!).
Tonight we decorated the Christmas tree. Three of our kids along with two boyfriends and one girlfriend filled our living room with laughter and memories as they shared their favorite ornaments and stories with their sweeties. I still haven't figured out the Christmas light photography, but I really liked the glow of this photo, and my own sweetie's feet.
@digitalrn Remember when I commented on your tree and how different each Christmas tree is? This is what I meant! Yours was so slender and elegant and ours is simply ridiculous. It's more like a bush than a Christmas tree, but that's just the way I like it because I have four kids and I still put the ornaments on there that they made as toddlers, as well as all the others they made over the years. Every ornament has a story...
wowow!! That is one hellova tree! Sounds like a WONDERFUL time-how I always imagined it should be! (except for the HD crash-double ugh!-so sorry for that, I feel your pain on that one) All is well now in the Eastern world :)
My, you've come a long way baby! A fav for sure. You didn't even have a clue about when you'd be putting up your tree when I left you on Friday night. Good job, sweetie, and it's beautiful, as always.
@christiehicks You have no idea how much your Dad is my hero today! When I brought him the laptop (at his work!), even he wasn't sure it could be saved. But then he patiently began working, and trying this and that, and then this and that again. I'm pretty sure he's a genius.
@stepheesue Thank you. My San Fran girls are flying in on December 16 and staying 2 weeks! I'm over the moon with excitement! I hope your guys are coming home too!
@orangecrush It reminded me of the Griswald tree too, and I actually made my husband move it away from the windows before he cut the stings to release it because it really is that fat.
Oh my Laurie this is beautiful! Are those icicles catching the light? Such a wonderful shape and a gorgeous room - just our taste! with wall shelves covered in books. A fave to remind me of you! :-)
What a gorgeous, full tree! It looks fantastic! It's great that the kids and their significant others were able to be there to take part in the decorating. I remember doing the same with my boyfriend (now husband).
Wow, that is a CRAZY fat tree! And you barely have room for your angel! AND you had enough ornaments to cover the whole thing. I am impressed! BTW, I also love your bookshelves. Very nice. Looks so homey and cozy there!
Dear laurie, this tree is enormous and just wonderful, love your description of your kids having fun decorating it.
Great that your uncle was able to save the day! Phew
Hope Bev is coming back your way for Christmas! x
Such a gorgeous tree, Laurie! We always had a big tree at my parents house where all the ornament that my brother and I made in grammar school still decoratied the tree - lot of warm memories!
Wow...that is one BIG, ROUND tree! Beautiful tho..and definitely the spirit of the season. By chance, is that an almost barbie like angel on the treetop circa sometime in the 70s? It looks very much like the one on top of our tree
Laurie, I love this shot! Your tree is beautiful. The white lights are so pretty and elegant. I love that your tree is huge! What really matters is the joy you all had decorating it and reminiscing. What a wonderful experience for you and your family! :o) congrats on the PP!
And you're right. It does have a nice glow to it.
Sound like a special night! I'm glad you got your computer fixed!
Great that your uncle was able to save the day! Phew
Hope Bev is coming back your way for Christmas! x
