When I heard we were in for a blizzard, I pictured all kinds of wonderful photo opportunities. Turns out that feeding and keeping seven people safe took over. Thank goodness, we are campers. We cooked a giant pork butt in this cast iron Dutch oven right in the fireplace and had a candlelight feast of pulled pork, homemade baked beans and cole slaw. I was so busy cooking and washing dishes that I never actually got a good photo of the snow.
Beautiful as the snow might have been, this is probably the better image for remembering what the storm meant to you and your family. A photo worthy of the story!
How much fun! Some people complained about losing power. But you created some wonderful memories for your family, some great food and this excellent photograph! Well done!
awesome. looks so nice and cozy! We have a pellet stove insert in our fireplace which is useless in an emergency-we froze....but power is back on as of yesterday morning. I am happy to hear you fared much better!
ditto what shirley said. sounds like you more than made the best of it. it's a night all 7 will remember for the rest of their lives. awesome shot to boot!
