This is a diary photo. We've had chickens for about 5 years now and these three youngest ones are my absolute favorites of all time. It's impossible to get a good photo of them, because they always rush right to me and practically hop into my lap every time I try.
We served lunch to about 100 people at our church today, and we brought the veggie scraps home to the chickens. I gave them all to The Littles, who are in temporary living quarters because I'm sure the Biggies (older chickens) will hurt them if we ever combine the flock. The Biggies are led by the hugest bully I've ever encountered, and I just can't bear to let my Littles ever face the power of her beak, which has taken out the eye of an adopted chicken. It's a conundrum.
