I love poppies, so when I stopped by my daughter's house today, I couldn't resist this beauty in her front yard. I grew them one summer when my son was a toddler. I got one bloom that I admired from my kitchen window until he decided to pick it for me. Poppies don't last even a day in a vase and the plant died after that one year.
My son's action was so sweet, I didn't even scold him. Now he is just about to graduate from High School and Julie is getting married and has her own flower garden. Where does time go?
Oh, sweet story, Laurie, to go with this stunning poppy! Where DOES the time go? You have seen me talking about my niece, Erin's graduation this past weekend. When I was driving her to find a place to develop our film, we drove past the soft ball fields and Dairy Queen where my mom and I came to watch her play softball. She only played a few years...around the age of 9 -11 or so. That seems like yesterday. Now Mom is gone, and "her Erin" is graduating HS. Then the song by Judy Collins "Who Knows Where the Time Goes" came on, as we drove past Erin's old ball field where my mom was a few years ago. It made me so sad....but it is life. Life rolls on. Which is a good thing.
