I've never seen anything like this. It's like an anemone or a fibre optic lamp. And it looks like a bit of coral in that gravel, too :)

@denisedaly @murnane @bill_d thanks - I was heading out for a day of scuba diving and whilst waiting for the dive crew to arrive I spotted this flower beneath the tree, I have never managed a shot that pleased me of the flowers up in the tree.
@brizmako - yes it is bits of coral, the trees are down at the cove, right next to the beach, having grown here as a result of the fruits drifting in the ocean.
Apparently the fruit of this tree are called "garbage fruit" or "rubbish fruit" on a number of tropical island in the Pacific, they look promising but the fruit is not good eating.
