Poppies. My lawn was overgrown - I couldn't bring myself to mow this section

My housesitter has been minding my house for the last year, he's not much of a gardener though. The garden was a little jungle like and the lawn sorely in need of mowing. I mowed it all, but couldn't bring myself to do this section, I decided to let the poppies die down before I mow them.

What a wonderful shot - such delicate stems with a riot of gentle colour behind it!
(My neighbour tells me to leave part of the lawn unmown to save destroying an entire eco-system.... works for me!!)
