Swamp Harrier (I think), I love watching these powerful birds soar and hover, riding the air currents
I got some fabulous pictures of black shouldered kites earlier in the week; some really clear shots of their faces and all. Somehow when I had some computer problems I managed to delete them and some other shots from part 1 of the road trip. So I find myself driving around in search of more raptors, and hoping I'll get some shots comparable to those I lost. I tired to recover them from the memory card but tha exercise failed too.
Wonderful shot. You get a sense of its power. I lost a day's shooting recently too. It is very unsettling, but after you've tried everything you have to let it go.
A very majestic bird indeed! Did you download a recovery program? I deleted pictures from my SD card before and some were recovered but it needs to be done right away before other pictures are taken, which will replace the space of the deleted ones.
What a shame about your other photos,.... being a technophobe my only recommended remedy is to look at this picture and breathe deeply, as it relaxes me enormously! :)
Gorgeous - the hazy background is perfect for this beautiful bird. Sorry about your lost shots....I hate that. lost a SD card somewhere between the camera shop and my car last year ... horrible feeling to think of all those lost pics :(
