The sand/mud flats of Westernport Bay

I have been seeing the flats as we drive from Phillip Island up to Melbourne, so I decided to try to find my way to them, convinced this is where I'd find all the spoonbills, terns, sandpipers and herons I'm told are prevalent in the area.

I found my way to the flats, found numerous gulls and a couple of Ibis. I am yet to find out where the other birds are hanging out

Beautiful shimmer - the bird is a bonus! Just been trying to snap garden starlings.. pesky things are too quick for me! You get the most amazing shots of wildlife. :)
