Egg Rolling, Easter Sunday, near Wells Cathedral

Ok, so a few people have commented that they'd not seen/heard of egg rolling - so it is not just me! I decided to add this photo so you can say you've seen people doing it. Apparently it is popular in a number of countries and the way it is done differs form country to country - including the winner is the egg which rolls farthest or the one which gets down first or the egg that is not cracked, or one that cracks others - just depends on where you come from!
In many of the traditions the (usually boiled) eggs are first decorated, often in traditional methods including the uses of onion skins to dye them. I did learn to do that when I was at school, we used onion skins, flowers, beetroot and other natural dyes - it was a lot of fun. But we didn't roll the eggs anywhere. I didn't eat mine either as I am not partial to boiled eggs. I do love chocolate eggs though.
I mentioned the main reason for my trip was to reunite with my first serious boyfriend form when I was 20. The first meeting went well. The first week went well. I asked him if he thought of me/described me as his girlfriend and he hesitated, so I asked how did he think of me. He said they were two different questions. He did not describe me as girlfriend as he feels that it is a long time since we were boy and a girl. He doesn't like 'partner' either as that often has connotations. But as to how he thought of me/our relationship he said 'soulmates'. Now whilst that is an absolutely wonderful thing to say/hear, I am still unsure how do adults describe a more mature romance?
I would still use the term boyfriend/girlfriend. Soul mate sounds quite committed though, even moreso than boyfriend :)

Loved the info about the egg rolling and the pic of course!

I think once you get older again, people start using boy and girlfriend again to feel young again! :-)

But how would he introduce you?
Funny shot.

Phew! For a moment I thought someone had lost a contact lens! :) Nice capture...
OH and I are 'partners' and have been for most, if not all, of our relationship. He is Other Half - not sure how he introduces me, mostly he forgets to...
I was getting quite nervous for you reading the commentary, but soulmates is a wonderful thing for him to have said :)

That does look fun. "Soulmate" is lovely, and tender too.
I suppose for those past girl/boy age, he could be your chap or your fella, you could be his ladyfriend... I saw a chap a few times over Christmas and was quite surprised when he said he should be working and couldn't spend all day "chatting to his girlfriend..." I didn't think of myself as his girlfriend at all..!!
