I was hoping to see bluebells in the woods, but settled for this crocus filled median strip.
My dad grew up in the UK and I grew up hearing about woods filled with bluebells and it was on the list of things I wanted to see on my trip. Unfortunately the unseasonably cold weather meant that the spring flowers were slower to appear.
I did see masses of daffodils and in Cornwall a hillside covered in lemon coloured primroses and the odd crocus growing in the lawn but I see more bluebells in my own garden. So, I was delighted to see this median strip in Bruges, near the railway station just covered in purple and white crocus.
When I look back at this shot I find myself wishing I'd moved that forked stick out of the shot
