Wonderful shot. What kind of pie did you make?

@jimmyveee Spicy bean and lentil. The filling is my own recipe but the hairy bikers pasty pastry s the best.

Sounds delicious. Your answer also clarified an issue I had with *comfort food*. Here in the US, pie usually refers to a fruit filled pie shell served as a desert. A pasty usually refers to a vegetable or meat filled pie shell served as a entree.

@jimmyveee Here pies usually have two crusts, top and bottom although a deep dish pie will only have a top crust. Tjhey can be sweet or savoury. A pasty is a single portion with the fillling completely encased in pastry. They can be hand held and are perfect for picnics. They are almost always savoury. We had our bean and lentil pasties with mashed potato and purple sprouting brocolli. I have just used the leftover mash making peppered mackerel fishcakes for dinner tonight. Here endeth the first lesson! (sorry, I used to work as a cook and occasionally slip into teacher mode),
