This deeply wooded and very atmospheric temple is at the beginning of an old pilgrim route to the top of mount Fuji - it was a beautiful place and possibly my favourite temple in Japan :)
Fav. The filtered light makes this very atmospheric. Was this at 5th station? Was the weather clear enogh to see Fuji? We were at 5th station during a typhoon, and never saw the mountain.
@rvwalker - no it is not at the 5th station, it is at the bottom of the mountain. We were very lucky with the weather, it was very clear with blue skies all the time we were at Fuji. We got to see a beautiful sunset and sunrise :) I'll upload some photos of that too :)
