What a great old record-player. Like Cindy, I read the names and immediately others came to mind as well. I remember going to see Ray Price just a few years ago. He was quite frail and kind of tottered out on the stage, but when he opened his mouth and gently crooned, "Take the ribbons from your hair...shake it loose and let it fall..." the years fell away and I knew we would make it through the night. I'm enjoying your shots of the traveling memory show.
These certainly are the greats! Your choice of black and white with the names in red is so fitting. We knew country music, but grew up with 1960's rock and roll. I didn't like the turn of music in the 70-90's (punk, rap, hiphop), but I am liking it again now. I think there is a lot of current potential in the making. I am unusual as I am almost 60 and listening to what's new.
@mbemis How wonderful that these timeless performers are still entertaining us.I'm sure that was a great concert. Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing!
@cejaanderson I'm the same way, Jane. I love the new popular music too. I seldom listen to older music, but when I do, it really takes me back. Thanks for stopping by.
Think this is wonderful - I must admit my iPod has become a musical diary, including songs reminding me of my parents and also from my childhood and my children's. Fav
@ladymagpie So glad you stopped by! I really gave my top musical choices some thought and I'm happy they are some of your favorite artists, too. Thanks so much for the fav!
Wow! That is so cool! I remember all of them. My dad used to bring me home penny candy every night and played a record of Jim Reeves song Penny Candy for me! Thanks for reminding of some very special times. :)
Cool shot!
