Looking for ideas I went to dailyshoot.com and it said to photograph other kinds of art I appreciate. Instantly I thought of my brother, Vance, who is an art professor at one of our state universities. He teaches several art related subjects, but his specialty is ceramics. I have several of his pieces all over my house. This teapot is one of my favorites. Artistically speaking he’s a genetic fluke in our family. I’m nervous that my photo isn’t doing his piece justice, and I know he will see it on Facebook. My apologies in advance Professor!
Its not about the pottery its about the photography. Very nice photo by the way. I like the angles and the contrast. ....and you are far mor artistic than you give yourself credit for. There is no mystery to being an artist, just call yourself one and you are.
Oh! Your brother is so wise... words to live by, for sure. AND he's right - it's a great photo! I like the color contrast and the composition here. Nicely done!
@puzzledprof I can call myself an artist, but it's the adjective that applies that counts. There are good artists and there are bad artists. I know some of it can be learned, and I'm trying, but your "vision" as an artist is a natural ability. Thank you, though, for your comments. I really do appreciate them, and they mean a lot.
@moncooga He's pretty good at whatever he chooses to do. He's an avid outdoorsman and has done some nice taxidermy, too. I have a mounted fish that I'll post some time. It's good enough that I allow my husband to have it in the living room. ;)
