When I was entering the local Kohl’s store, I passed this mama goose sitting on a nest in a retaining wall right next to the entrance to the store. People were going in and out almost constantly, but she didn’t seem to mind. The picture on top is obviously a close up, but I included the picture below to show the proximity to the door. Obviously Canada Geese have adapted to our suburban environment. (And yes, it’s Canada, not Canadian.)
I will never forget my job in Carmel, and every day we had to either dodge the hundreds of sticky green land mines they laid by the building , or dodge them hissing and chasing us.
Also enjoyed watching the Maintenance guy banging a shovel against the asphalt chasing them away every day.
We had a nest of Mallard ducks in a bush right by our front door...SO cute watching them take off for the creek once they hatched. GREAT capture and story
