In preparation for my daughter’s upcoming graduation open house we decided to paint the much neglected rocking chairs and table on the front porch. My daughter was insistent that a deep eggplant color would look good with our brown bricks and green front door. I was really hesitant, but I went ahead and let her pick the paint. We both had buyer’s remorse when she started applying the paint as it looked “Barney the Dinosaur” purple like in this picture! I told her to continue painting and hopefully it would look a lot darker after a couple of coats had dried and luckily it did. I spent almost the whole day painting the chairs, and I have to give her credit. They look great with the colors on the house and in the garden.
Good for you for riding it out until you saw the finished color ~ I'll bet this looks fabulous on your porch as an accent to the brown and green. Such a great summertime porch furniture color...like lilacs or hydrangeas. Happy graduation to your daughter and good luck with the open house festivities! :)
