Big Yellow Thief by lisabell

Big Yellow Thief

If you’ve been following me for awhile, then you know my cherry tomato plants have been producing poorly this year. I attributed it to where I planted them and to the weather; however, this evening I saw a dozen cherry tomatoes ripe and ready to be picked. I took a bowl outside and proceeded to harvest my beautiful red gems. I turned to pluck the last ripe one off the vine when I felt a bump against the bowl
and heard the snapping of some jaws. I looked into my bowl to see only four tomatoes remaining along with a bit of dog drool. Eddie was already across the yard enjoying his booty by the time I realized what had happened. He’s getting older and slower in many respects, but he’s still got it when it comes to snatching food.
:) beautiful!

Nice pic. Our regular tomatoes and the cherry ones were disappointing this year. We got some cherrys but most were split or had blossom rot.

Well it figures- the cop was chasing dragonflies at the greenhouse, so he knew he could get away with it this time! So typical!! (o: Cute story and fun shot.

Eddie knows a good thing when he sees it. This post made me smile ~ our sweet, departed, Toby was a pro at nabbing tomatoes off the vine.
