I went over to my mom’s tonight and while I was there I went out into the yard to find a photo. Mom has a sycamore tree that this about twenty-six years old, and it is huge! I took photos sitting at the base looking up, but my favorite shots were of the bark. I find the texture, patterns and color variations so interesting.
While at Mom’s, I picked up my brother’s camera bag which has a nice speedlight and a wide angle lens that I’m going to experiment with for awhile. My brother says when I borrow things, I never give them back. That’s not true. He just tends to abandon them. Not that I’m plotting or anything, but he bought all of this nice camera equipment and doesn’t even know how to use it.
This is a very cool shot! Marvelous texture ~ and I agree with @hudd, a beautiful silver color.
Enjoy your brother's camera equipment...it could be years before he decides he wants to learn how to use it, or if you're really lucky he'll forget he ever had it to begin with! :)
Oh, I'd for sure be plotting if I were you! For the record, my brother in law is a photographer, and I'm hoping he gets me in the Secret Santa this year... I'm trying to figure out how to plot that out, LOL. I agree with the others that this is a great shot, so cool and close up you almost can't tell quite what it is... You should frame it. For sure.
