One of my goals for next year’s project is to master lighting. (You didn’t think I would actually leave did you? I’m just starting to get the hang of this!) Lighting is everything and I find it so confounding sometimes. Trying to get a simple shot of an ornament almost drove me mad with all of the adjustments I had to keep making. Still, I wish the lights in the background would not look so elongated. Aaah perfection. I’m always striving for it, but actually achieving it is elusive. But that’s good because the yearning is what makes me want to keep taking photos day after day.
Beautiful lighting and color tones. I actually like the elongated lights in the background. I can relate though to you wanting perfectionism. I strive for that every day and am always trying to improve so I can get that "perfect" shot.
This is very pretty. Warm and inviting. I love natural light and, now that I'm getting to know my camera better, it's becoming more and more my favorite.
This is really pretty. Were the background lights candles? I'm not sure if the source of the light is what causes the shape or if it's something else altogether. But you can keep trying and experimenting for as long as you need to, so it can be an adventure to finally get the effect you're looking for.
