Lilly Pilly Tree

I was walking around my front garden this afternoon, just looking for a photo for today, & I looked up - there it was !!
This is the view looking up my Lilly Pilly tree that is about 35 years old. The trunk isbeautiful.
I love the lush new growth it gets after we prune it.
If you'd like to have a look at this tree, Check out the link below.

The variety of flora you all have is so different from what grows in North America, it's always a delight to see! I'd only heard this name, but never saw the tree; have you tried making the jam? I'm wondering what that clove flavour would taste good with...

Lois, you're always so sweet to go through my photos, making comments! You make me smile as I read through them. I'm often surprised when friends tell me they've looked at my pictures, because without notes, I don't know they've been there, but you always make me feel like we're sharing the conversation!

Louise: I made the jam once from the Lilly-Pilly trees around my place. But that was a few years ago now and they haven't fruited since; and I found the seeds were better off being put through a food processor (something I didn't possess at the time).
The jam is quite sweet actually, but if you're really desperate, you can eat the fruit on its own without the seed that tastes like camphor.

That's so neat! I've never heard of this kind of tree before. The berries sound like they have an interesting flavor, and I bet the jam is really tasty!
