Tonight I had to do some alterations to a pair of Bernie's overalls.
Which sewing machine to use!!
There really was no contest between my 38 year old ELNA & my 4 year old Jamone.
ELNA won hands down.
This machine is made from steel & screws. The case it came in is steel - nothing plastic!!
It is an old workhorse & has never let me down.
I like this shot.
I used to sew all many dresses for my daughter and myself on a sturdy Singer workhorse. Finally gave the machine to the drama department at scoop for costume repair. This brings back many memories!
Just read my comment and see the auto correct gremlins have been at work. The drama department is at school and there is an extra "all" in the first sentence
I had an old singer machine and a slightly newer electric one - my daughter (then 15) and I made dresses one day to the same pattern using different fabrics so she could learn step by step - it was fun doing it together and the end results were wearable but so different!
Aaaah, I remember this machine. I learnt so much on it when I did a sewing course. And I have done my share of repairs on my own clothes (ones you don't know about, Mum) when I needed them done quickly on the night I was going out... like a certain white shirt I fixed the seam of then wore on the same night to go clubbing. Wow... that's a long time ago now!
