Today, here in Australia, the Nation stopped for 3 minutes to watch the annual running of the Melbourne Cup horse race.
Bernie, myself, Lynda and Allan went to a Melbourne Cup Luncheon at "Limelight Restaurant" at the Logan Entertainment Centre.
We had an enjoyable day. It started at 11am with a complimentary drink & nibbles, followed by a 2 course meal.
We invested in some sweeps, and 3 of us won some $'s from the race.
Bernie & I won the prizes for the best Hat (ladies) & the best Tie (men) which was flowers, chocolates, & 2 bottles of wine.
To top it all off, Lynda & I collected a tidy sum from the TAB.
We only bet once a year, so to actually win is a bonus.
