"I never know in advance what I will photograph,… I’ll go out into the world and hope I will come across something that imperatively interests me. I am addicted to the found object.” - Ansel Adams

March, 2024, and I'm into my 10th year at 365project (I started 1/6/2015). Still enjoying the community, and looking forward to the future. Primary cameras are a Fujifilm X-T3 and a Fujifilm X-T4 (both mirrorless), which I love. Also use my iPhone quite a bit, and occasionally a Nikon D3200 (mostly for macro).

I have 40+ years as engineer, working in many roles for several companies in the Power System controls field. Starting to position myself for retirement, looking forward to having more time to take photos! I started photography, back in the mid-1970's, with SLR, film and "wet" darkroom. I've dabbled in several areas over the years (including microstock), but am firmly settled into shooting for myself. I got my first digital camera around 2002, and have never looked back.

I have a preference for B&W, nature and decay (anything showing the impermanence of mankind). Lately, I've been shooting a lot of bird photos. But I'm not exclusive to anything. I'm a strong believer that the best camera is the one you have with you, and that the creative process doesn't end with pressing the shutter.

I've lived in the middle part of the USA (SW Illinois) for over 30 years, with time previously in Washington DC area, central North Carolina, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
