One of my goals for this year is to try new things. Motion shots are on that list of new things. Today when I went out some of the guys had their model planes up and flying. At a guess these planes have appoximately a 2'-3' wingspan. For my first try I did pretty well. Almost in focus! This shot was 1/400 of a second. I got a couple at 1/640 of a second and the focus was better but the composition of this shot is better.
Looks good. Another fun one to try is when you move the camera with the moving object. I did it with a carousel horse. 100 shots and a few partially in focus.
@jupiter394 I was following the plane with my camera sometimes. He had just landed and re-taken off so the climb on this shot was pretty slow. I had the camera on the tripod with the ballhead really loose so was just swinging the camera around with the plane.
