Mom chased all of the babies out of the nest this afternoon. The first two did great and made it to trees. This little guy did a controlled fall from the nest (it was only 4'). He didn't want any part of this flying nonsense but was happy just hopping around the yard following Mom. She would go get him a worm and then fly away trying to get him to follow. No such luck. One of the Hawks made an appearance so I herded him back toward his nest and some groundcover. He was flapping his wings a little so I think he just needs a little more time.
