Taking this photo taught me several unexpected lessons. I really understand now how much easier it is to learn what we are 'open to' or we 'want to' in life. I had heaps of excuses for not taking a standard theme shot this week - no suitable scenery, no time, and they generally just didn't appeal to me at all.
I took 20 shots of this flower sticky-taped to my office airconditioner and discovered how shot focus and focal point can be very different things; fine detail and small detail are very different; and to see an inanimate object as so much more than a combination of texture, colour and contrast.
This post represents how much can be learnt by venturing outside my comfort zone.
Thanks to thoughtful @nicolecampbell who gave me some very lovely flowers.
@kimmiesue thankyou very much. I was amazed at how very different the mood was in each shot I took of the same object. When there are very few elements, I saw how each one substantially influences the final shot in a positive or negative way.
