Here is the brushtailed possum who has just moved into the ceiling space of my garage. She is about 2 feet long and has two babies about 4 inches long that are very shy.
Possums can be quite a nuisance in urban areas in Australia and New Zealand.
(reposted comments) maribelrivera - wow, we don´t have any of these here in Spain, I didn´t know this animal...are they wild? it doesn´t look so, but one never knows... posted August 6th, 2011
Nicole Campbell - She is too cute - are you going to call the RSPCA to come and take them away?

Lyn Todd - @maribelrivera - very wild indeed, and not terribly 'friendly' if they are cornered! I have a shot of a hand & the large sharp claws that I might post later. I have to stand on the top of a ladder & balance with one hand to see him like ths. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Brushtail_Possum @nicolecampbell - not sure yet - I don't want her to stay in my garage, but they cant survive in the wild if the are moved from their territory. They recommend sealing up the gaps in the roof line & using camphor blocks to encourage them move back into the local trees.
Nic Taylor- but very cute awww great capture thanks for sharing
Izzy Mathie - ohh this is so upsetting, it won't load on my computer! the thumbnail looks adorable though. hope they thrive, wild or tame x
