I drove to Shepherd's Lookout hoping to find some birds to photograph. On the path I could hear plenty of bees in the wattle trees and thought I would take the opportunity to tick off another of my '365' bucket list.
I took about 20 shots & moved on along to discover a tree with a bee hive in the base of it's trunk......
"Oh what a great 'augustabstract' shot a wild honeycomb would make. I'll just bend down and,....no,hold on,... I need to adjust the exposure just a little...yes, I think I......OHHH, AGGGH, EEKK!!..."
Bees in my freshly 'hairdressered' hair !...I grab a stick, and yes folks,...I actually 'beat' my head with a stick for a full ten minutes before I could dislodge the bee... and that was only after he had stung me on the scalp (OUCH!!!)...did I mention I was trying not to drop the camera, step on my glasses, or fall down the steep gravel slope??
So...the day's outcome? zero abstract photos, one sore head, and one photo that may not "bee" the best you have ever seen, but it will remind me of the dangers of abstractaugust !!!!
I'm sorry Lyn, I'm not laughing really but oh if someone had of had a camera! You are not having a good time of it lately. I do really like this photo though, I think you captured it perfectly. I hope your head feels better soon. :)
and that bee really does look like he's eyeballing you!
