across the cross country

This is one of the competitors in the Australian junior national cross-country championships held here on the weekend.

I am not yet quite comfortable with street photography, so I thought photographing a large sporting event would be a way of easing into it.

@clarek I am SO happy to hear I am not the only scardey-cat! This did help me as I went straight on to the skate-board park (that's a whole new world!!) and did take a lot of shots, but I decided I need to learn a bit more about skateboarding and positioning myself for the best shots ...I must say I did get (just a liitle) over my inhibitions after the running track though... so it must be like aversion therapy !!!!
