This shot has the same processing as yesterday, but to to add some colour I also added a layer (hue-saturation-lightness) and moved the hue slider around to find a suitable colour.

Wow, your smoke shots are so much sharper than mine. Looking back, I used f/2.8 and you used f/8. Big difference (duh).

@mikew I used manual settings, but auto focus this time. Way back in June I used manual focus & that was really 'hit & miss'. If you can get enough (side) light on the smoke it is much easier using autofocus - & the camera does not need to be on a tripod because it was shooting at 125. I used the camera histogram to fine tune the exposure & went to f5.6 for some of them, but preferred f8. I took about 30 mins to get the setup & settings right. Some brands of incense burn differently too, so it may be that.
