My sister & I rode out to Point Cartwright today to see the very high surf on the king tide. As soon as we dismounted and I turned on the camera, this osprey flew directly overhead. It was flying so fast neither of us even saw the fish in its talons until I downloaded the images from the camera.
My nephew consulted his trusty old 'Grant's Fishes' and tells me it is a Spotted Butterfish or 'Scat'.
