This is the view of the nightly light show from the terrace outside my room. I think it is a lucky/Goldilocks shot, because there was a lot of trial an error on exposure - the camera was resting precariously on a (wet) fence post and I was shooting 'blind' in 2 sec delay to reduce shake. I used an aperture to maximise focus which I achieved manually through the live view. I was aiming to capture enough light to retain the night-time feel, but sufficient colour & detail. The challenge was predicting the 2 seconds delay, (the beams were firing randomly!) while finding an exposure 'just the right size' so that the light beams were visible but sharp.
